A little bit about the Central University of Venezuela Volunteer Fire Department

The UCV Volunteer Fire Department is the first non-governmental organization (NGO) and university campus based volunteer fire department created in Latin America. The Fire Department is fully staffed by students, graduates and faculty of the University. The UCV Volunteer Fire Department was founded in 1960 and currently has two fire stations in two different university campuses, providing emergency services to the university and the surrounding communities. The UCV Volunteer Fire Department has participated on international disaster relief missions in Colombia, El Salvador, Mexico, Nicaragua and Venezuela.

Why Help the UCV Firefighters Foundation

Donations received by the UCV Firefighters Foundation are used to equip and train volunteer firefighters and other first responders in USA and Latin-America. We are currently developing educational programs to improve the medical emergency response and aggressive bleeding management in incidents with mass casualties such as shooting situations and disasters. Our goal is to support emergency services in underserved communities in USA and Latin America. In the near future we want to bring disaster relief with the support of our professional volunteers and firefighters. In addition, we use the donations to support and help firefighters wounded in the line of duty or family members with humanitarian and health necessities.
